We are in for another high-octane edition of one of the oldest domestic competitions in the world. It is the Sheffield Shield 2024-25, which is the 122nd season of Australia’s premier red-ball competition at the first-class level. The very first edition of the Sheffield Shield took place way back in 1892, and since then, it has become the platform that has produced many world champions that have represented Australia at the highest level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As usual, the upcoming season will have some of the biggest Australian superstars, including all who are currently playing for the national team. New South Wales, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria, Queensland, and Western Australia will be taking part in the competition, while Western Australia will defend their title.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 122nd edition will host 31 matches between October 30 and March 30. These matches will be played across 8 different venues in Australia. This tournament will take place in double-round-robin format, then final. Below, we will talk about the complete details of the Sheffield Shield 2024-25.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sheffield Shield 2024-25: Venues<\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

All six participating teams have their own home venue for the Sheffield Shield 2024-25. So, they will face matches at home and away format. A total of 8 venues have been selected for the upcoming edition. Seven venues have been announced, while the venue that will host the final on March 20 has yet to be announced.
