In July 2022, Jonathan Trott became the Afghanistan cricket team head coach. Trott had a great deal of experience in the position given his extensive history in international cricket, especially with England.

Method of coaching:

His method is to sharpen the abilities of the Afghan athletes, paying special attention to the white-ball formats, in which he wants to use Afghanistan’s inherently aggressive batting style while also instilling greater discipline and tactical awareness.

The team is meant to concentrate on steady performance in overseas competitions under Trott’’s direction. If Afghanistan’s ODI World Cup 2023 standout performance under Trott is anything to go by, their future seems brilliant.

Having Trott in charge, there is hope that Afghanistan has already been advancing on recent accomplishments and possibly will be a team to look for in the near future.
