World Test Championship, WTC- A Test cricket format tournament which is administered by the International Cricket Council.  The inaugural of the WTC took place back in the 2019-2021 with the latest edition running from 2023 to 2025. This test tournament follows a league and final format that features a total of nine teams competing in the ongoing edition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Australia, the current champion, has won its first title while defeating India in the 2023 finale, while New Zealand and Australia each hold one title as the most successful teams. England’s Joe Root holds the record for the most runs with 4,307, and Australia’s Nathan Lyon has taken the most wickets with 187. The WTC has had tournaments in 2019\u20132021, 2021\u20132023, and 2023\u20132025, with the next planned for 2025\u20132027. India has been part of both WTC finals and ended up as the runner ups<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Teams Participating in WTC 2025<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In the ongoing WTC 2025, a total of 9 teams are participating including Australia, Bangladesh, England, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka and West Indies. These are full time members of the ICC who will be playing a total of 6 series against different countries playing it either on their home grounds or away from the home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The performances of the teams will be noted on the WTC points table<\/a>. The top teams performing on the table are set to face each other in the final match scheduled to take place on the grounds of London at Lords stadium in the month of June 2025. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The teams are awarded a net points of 12 for scoring a win against any team in a series, if the series is tied then the team gets 6 points and if the teams result with a match draw then they are awarded a total of 4 points and finally no points will be awarded for a match lost.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each team will play a total of six series against international cricket teams. The overall rankings on the table will be displayed with the won, loss, tied, draw and the top two teams based on their performances will be playing final in the month of June 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

World Test Championship 2025 Finalists<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The finalists for the 2025 World Test Championship are confirmed, with Australia set to defend their title against South Africa at Lord\u2019s in June. Australia secured their place by defeating India in the fifth and final Border-Gavaskar Test 2024<\/a> in Sydney, clinching the series 3-1. Pat Cummins’ team will face South Africa, who earned their spot with a dramatic two-wicket victory over Pakistan in the Boxing Day Test<\/a>. Australia, now with 63.73% of possible points, moved ahead of India (50%) and Sri Lanka, who cannot catch up in the remaining tests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

WTC 2023-25 League Stage Schedule:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Wtc is championship which will go on for the long span of two years taking team to their home grounds and away, playing at various international grounds and against international opponents, the WTC has started with the ASHES SERIES in the year 2023 at and will conclude on the grounds of Lord\u2019s London in June 2025, giving all cricket fans a champion for the WTC 2025. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

WTC 2025: Venue<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The world championship series will be conducted at various international venues from 2023 to 2025, starting from Ashes series at English grounds to taking it to different venues of Carribean, Sri lankan land, Australia etc. Although all venues for the ongoingWTC are not decided yet, Pakistan will host West Indies at venues to be decided. The Warne-Muralitharan Trophy between Sri Lanka and Australia will take place at venues to be decided. The series will conclude on the ground of Lord\u2019s London in June 2025 with the two top teams taking the lead on the points table.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 2023-2025 world test championship title is still undecided with the WTC final match yet to come in 2025, where the top two teams with high PCT on points table will lock horns to lift the ultimate trophy glory. The remaining games promise thrilling battles as teams compete for the prized trophy.
