The ICC Champions Trophy is a cricket tournament organised by the International Cricket Council. The tournament was started in 1998 and the funds raised from the tournament are invested in the development of the game in Non- test playing countries. It is also used to promote the sport globally.
The first match of the Champions Trophy took place in Bangladesh. The format of the champions trophy is that of the One Day Internationals (ODI’s), similar to the cricket World Cup but with lesser teams.

1998 ICC Champions Trophy Final: South Africa Vs West Indies
The 1998 ICC Champions Trophy final, was a memorable match between South Africa and the West Indies. It took place on November 1, 1998, at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
The West Indies won the toss, decided to bat first and made 245 runs. Phil Wallace hit 103 runs. South Africa batted, made 246 runs and still had 6 players out. Hansie Cronje and Mike Rindel did really well. Jacques Kallis was the best player of the game and of the whole tournament.
2000 ICC Champions Trophy Final : New Zealand vs India
The 2000 ICC Champions Trophy final between New Zealand and India was held on October 15, 2000, at the Gymkhana Club Ground in Nairobi, Kenya. India Captained by Saurav Ganguly, he made a score of 264/6 after batting first. Ganguly himself scored a brilliant 117 runs, and Sachin Tendulkar contributed 69 runs. However, New Zealand competed head on with a score of 265/6. Chris Cairns played a match-winning inning of 102, not out.
His core helped New Zealand win the cricket game. They needed 265 runs and got them with just two balls left. Cairns scored 102 runs and didn’t get out, so he was named the best player. It was a tough match, but New Zealand worked hard and won.
2002 ICC Champions Trophy Final : India Vs Sri Lanka
The 2002 ICC Champions Trophy Final between India and Sri Lanka was memorable for being affected by rain and leading to a result even after two continuous attempts to play the match on September 29 and 30, at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
Sri Lanka batted first and scored 222/7 in 50 overs, with Mahela Jayawardene scoring 77 runs and Russell Arnold adding an unbeaten 56 runs.
India’s innings were cut short due to rain, and they were 38/1 in 8.4 overs when the match was stopped. This led to the 2002 Champions Trophy, shared by both teams.

The 2004 ICC Champions Trophy Final was a cricket match between the West Indies and England. It happened in London on September 25, 2004 at the Oval in London. England scored 217 runs, and Marcus Trescothick got 104 of those.

Then Australia got 206 runs, thanks to Shane Watson’s 105 not out. He was the best player of the match, and Ricky Ponting was the best in the whole tournament.

The 2013 ICC Champions Trophy final took place on June 23, 2013, at the Edgbaston Cricket Ground in Birmingham. India batted first, scoring 129 runs for 7 wickets in their 20 overs.

The Champions Trophy 2017 final was on June 18, 2017, in London. Pakistan scored 338 with Fakhar Zaman hitting 114 runs, Azhar Ali 59, and Mohammad Hafeez 57.
India needed 339 runs to win but struggled. Mohammad Amir took out the top three Indian batsmen early. Hardik Pandya made 76 runs, but it wasn’t enough.
