Jasprit Bumrah
The ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah is irreplaceable. You won’t find anyone of his caliber; that’s why Bumrah will be a sure shot retention for the five-time champion. He took 20 wickets in 13 matches in the IPL 2024 at an economy rate of 6.48. Bumrah is a core player for MI and will be playing for them in the 2025 edition.
Suryakumar Yadav
The new T20I captain of India and the best Indian batter, Suryakumar Yadav, is another sure shot retention for Mumbai Indians ahead of the IPL 2025 auction. SKY is an asset for MI and has always performed well for them. He scored 345 runs in 11 matches at a strike rate of 167.47 last season. Suryakumar is the backbone of the middle-order batting unit and is a core player.

Tilak Varma or Rohit Sharma
The big question will be whether Mumbai Indians retain Rohit Sharma or not. Rohit is 38 years old and might not play for another three years. So that may be one reason that MI releases him. But Rohit has a massive stature with MI, and that may force MI to retain him. But if not, MI might go for Tilak Varma. The star youngster is definitely a future prospect. He has been a consistent scorer for them. He scored 416 runs in 2024 and might be a retention if MI doesn’t retain Rohit Sharma.
