SL vs India T20I: The T20I World Champion Team India will take on Sri Lanka in the 1st T20I game of the 3 T20I series during the Sri Lanka Tour. Sri Lanka and India all 3 T20I games are scheduled to be held at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium.
Post the success of ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, Men Blue will be on a new mission and travel to Sri Lanka for 3 T20I and 3 ODI game series from 26th July to 7th August.
For the three T20I series, Pallekele International Cricket Stadium will be the venue for the India and Sri Lanka games. After 2021, India’s tour of Sri Lanka is the first bilateral series in the White ball cricket. India and Sri Lanka T20 series start from 26th July to 29th July. Last time Sri Lanka and India faced each other at Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in the 2023 T20I series. It was the final game of three T20I series in which India registered a huge victory by 91 runs.

Suryakumar Yadav- “SKY” is the frontrunner for the position of captain of men in blue team ahead of the Indian squad announcement for the official cricket tour. although there is no official confirmation on him as the new captain but as per the news reports and media circulation there has been talks about him being considered the new Captain of T20I. Earlier Hardik Pandya was to be appointed as the captain but upon his withdrawal from the series citing personal reasons the selection committee is seeking SKY as the new captain of Men In Blue.
Suryakumar Yadav has also previously led the Indian team in the series against Australia in the first T20I on 23 November 2023 just after the world cup defeat. Leading the team in total of 7T20I he made a winning Debut defeating Australia. Following to this he has also lead the Indian team in a series against South Africa.
India vs Sri Lanka Squad
Both the sides have released their squads for the upcoming T20 and ODI series which is scheduled to take place from the 27th July 2024 to 7Th August 2024. The upcoming series would have a total of 3 ODIs and 3T20s, where the Men In Blue would be lead by the Captain Suryakumar Yadav in the T20 format and Rohit Sharma in the ODI format. On the other hand the Sri Lankan team would be led by Charith Asalanka in the T20 format against India. Although the Sri-Lanka ODI squad is yet to be released for the tour.
India with a winning streak in the recent matches and tournament will be looking to add one more victory in this tour against Sri-Lanka. Whereas Sri-Lanka would also be looking to bring out their best and offer a good competition hoping for the wins.
