The cricket lovers world over will break into a celebration as legendary South African cricketer AB de Villiers announces his long-awaited comeback to the game after nearly four years. De Villiers, considered one of the most phenomenal and exceptional batters of his time will be leading the South African Game Changers Champions in the second edition of the World Championship of Legends (WCL). The T 20 league will have retired players as well as the players who are not representing their countries. promises to be a nostalgic yet marvelous experience for cricket enthusiasts all around the world. This whole thing was said in a release sent by the WCL.
Amid the return, de Villiers said: “When I retired four years ago, I made a decision because there were no longer scary nights in the dressing rooms; besides, it was tough for a few years. Time went on, and my quite young sons began showing some interest in the game; we’ve grown from there into quite a home-engaged game; suddenly, it feels like some kind of flame has been lit again.”
“That’s why I’m heading back to the gym and nets, and will be prepared for WCL in July,” he said.
A comeback of de Villiers into cricket has generated buzz largely because of the fact that he is so versatile and brave in batting. The Game Changers, having in the first season many greats, including Jacques Kallis, Herschelle Gibbs, Dale Steyn, and Imran Tahir, now sees a brighter future under de Villiers’ captaincy.
