The ongoing inaugural season of the Delhi Premier league is moving towards the conclusion with the semi finals matches scheduled to take place on the 6 and 7 September 2024 respectively.
With the top four teams making it to the Semi-finals, these teams will be going against one another in the final knockout matches to battle for the ultimate final of the first edition of the tournament. Managed by the Delhi & District Cricket Association Board, DPL is in its final mode with the TOP 4 teams announced as qualifiers for the knockout stage of the tournament.
The league has got its four semi finalists with the conclusion of league stage on 05, September, 2024 and now DPL is just two matches away from its final match. Riding high on the points table, East Delhi Riders have topped the standing of the 2024 season and became the first semi finalist to compete in the tournament. The other semi finalists that followed East Delhi are South Delhi Superstarz, Purani Delhi-6 and North Delhi Strikers.

DPL 2024 Semi-Finals:
A total of six teams participated in the inaugural season hosted by the Delhi & District Cricket Association Board. Following the league stage matches schedule of 30 matches, now the league has reached the end of the season. Starting with 6 teams, teams have narrowed to four that would be playing in the semis. And taking on here only two winners of these matches would be qualified to play in the DPL 2024 Final match. Following it the East Delhi Riders, North Delhi Strikers, South Delhi Superstarz and Purani Delhi 6 have made it to the semi finals of the league scheduled on the 6th and 7th September 2024.

Semi Finale 1: East Delhi vs North Delhi:
The first semi final match would be the battle between the table topper and fourth spot team. Having topped the table in standings the East Delhi Riders would be taking on the fourth placed North Delhi Strikers. Both the teams have played a total of 10 matches for the season, out of which East Delhi won 7 and North has just four wins in its name.
In the first semi-final of the DPL 2024, held on September 6, 2024, at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, the East Delhi Riders (EDR) emerged victorious over the North Delhi Stars (NDS) by 4 wickets. EDR successfully chased down NDS’s score of 173 set by the North Delhi batting first down the lane. Key performances included Harsh Tyagi, and Kavya Gupta. Despite solid efforts from NDS’s batters like Anuj Rawat and Himmat Singh EDR’s chase was effective, securing their place in the final.

South Delhi Superstarz and Purani Delhi 6: Semi-Finale 2 was abandoned due to Rain
The second semi-final match of the DPL 2024 between South Delhi Superstarz and Purani Dilli-6 was abandoned due to rain. Because the game couldn’t be played, South Delhi Superstarz, who were ranked higher in the League Stage Table, automatically move on to the Final. This means they will compete for the championship title without having to play this semi-final match.
