On March 9, 2025, India won the Champions Trophy by defeating New Zealand by four wickets in Dubai. New Zealand scored 251/7, and India chased the target with one over to spare. Rohit Sharma led India’s chase with a top score of 76 runs. India’s spinners, including Kuldeep Yadav and Varun Chakravarthy, played a crucial role in limiting New Zealand’s score. This victory marked India’s third Champions Trophy title.
India, led by Rohit Sharma, defeated New Zealand by 44 runs in the Champions Trophy. Varun Chakravarthy’s five-wicket haul was key to the win as New Zealand fell short, scoring 205 while chasing 250. India now faces Australia in the semifinals.
Two of those wins came in the 2023 ODI World Cup before handing the Kiwis a series sweep earlier in the year. Prior to that, India conceded two ODI series played in New Zealand in 2020 and 2022.
