After finishing among the bottom-ranked teams in the three consecutive seasons, Sunrisers Hyderabad certainly stunned everyone in the IPL 2026. And it was the Australian mindset which Pat Cummins brought in, and SRH looked like a formidable unit. They showed some mind-blowing batting performances, especially from their openers, and then the bowling unit also backed them up.
Only KKR performed well against them, and SRH finished runner-up. But with this intent and firepower, the franchise will hope to win their second title in IPL 2025. But their biggest challenge will be the limited retention. SRH has a brilliant group that has overseas stars in it. The next edition saw a mega auction, and one team can only retain 6 players including RTM. That’s where the challenge begins for the 2016 IPL champions.
