Sunil Narine IPL Debut
Sunil Narine played his IPL debut match on April 8, 2012. He represented KKR for the first time against Rajasthan Royals.
It was an average start for Narine, as he went wicketless in his four overs while conceding 29 runs. But he bounced back quickly and took his first and only five-wicket haul in his third match.
His match figures of 5/19 against Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) are still his best in the IPL. Narine continued his good form throughout the 2012 season and picked up 24 wickets in 15 matches.
The mystery off spinner’s performance was crucial in KKR lifting their first-ever IPL title that season.

Sunil Narine Performance in IPL 2024
Sunil Narine displayed his vintage colours in the IPL 2024 season while playing for KKR. He fired up on two fronts, taking important wickets and scoring quick runs.
Narine had the best season with the bat, scoring 488 runs in 14 innings at a strike rate of 180.74. His tally also included three fifties and his maiden T20 century.
With the ball, Narine picked up 17 wickets at an economy of 6.69, helping KKR win their third IPL trophy.
Sunil Narine Last IPL Match
Sunil Narine last featured in the IPL on May 26, 2024. He was part of the title-winning KKR squad.
They played in the final against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Chennai. Narine bowled a tight spell of four overs, taking a wicket for 16 runs.
He couldn’t do much with the bat in the 114-run chase, as he scored just six run in two balls.

Sunil Narine IPL Auction Price & History
Sunil Narine has been with Kolkata Knight Riders since 2012. The franchise signed the mystery spinner for INR 3.51 crore ahead of IPL 2012.
After his remarkable performance in the 2012 edition, KKR increased his salary to INR 3.72 crore. Ahead of the 2014 season, Narine’s salary jumped to INR 9.5 crore, which remained the same for the next four seasons.
In 2018, KKR further raised the off-spinner’s pay to INR 12.50 crore. Before the 2022 mega auction, Narine’s salary was slashed by more than 50 percent to INR 6 crore per season.
Now, after his impressive outing in 2024, Narine’s salary has doubled to INR 12 crore for IPL 2025.
