ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 is the ninth edition of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. The biennial tournament is organized by the ICC(International Cricket Council) and is being hosted on the grounds of the USA and the land of Caribbean/ West Indies from 1 to 29 June 2024.
The tournament has been conducted on the grounds of the USA and now all the matches will be played on the Caribbean land, with it the USA host land has successfully conducted all matches and the results here are as: Four teams have secured spots in the Super 8 stage, while two teams have been knocked out of the T20 World Cup. India and West Indies recently clinched their places in the Super 8s.
There are a remaining total of 4 teams that are needed to qualify to compete in the second part of the T20 World Cup format, i.e. the Super Eight stage. It would be interesting to note which other teams qualify and which teams will get knocked out this season putting an end to their World Cup journey.
T20 World Cup 2024: Qualified Teams for Super 8 Stage
With the top four teams from all groups A, B, C, and D being qualified the Super 8 stage matches will begin on the 19th of June. With India, Australia, west Indies, and South Africa being qualified there are still four spots left for the other team to qualify for the Super 8 stage.

Which Teams Have Been Knocked Out of the T20 World Cup 2024
Oman and Namibia are the teams that have been eliminated from the race of the T20 World Cup 2024. They both were placed in the Gropu B also referred to as the ‘Group of Death’ with Australia, Scotland, and England. Oman was the first team to exit the tournament after losing all three of their initial matches. Namibia followed suit after losing to Australia, with their only victory coming in a super over against Oman in their first match.
Top Teams Yet to Qualify and Their Qualification Conditions
The top four teams each from 4 groups have made it to the Super 8 stage and now the hurdle is in the way of other top-class teams to make it to the Super 8 stage. Pakistan, New Zealand, and the last edition championships England are still struggling to make it to the super 8 stage.
To qualify these needs to fulfill the mentioned qualifications:
Pakistan needs to win the next match against Ireland with a great gap as the USA from Group A also needs to win the next match. To qualify for the Super 8 both teams need to maintain a greater run rate than the other, the team with the greater run rate will make it to the Super 8 stage.
New Zealand must win their last two matches and hope other results go their way to advance to the Super 8 stage. The Group C qualification might hinge on net run rate if two teams finish with equal points by the end of the group matches.
England’s qualification is based on winning the last two games against Oman and Namibia by a large margin. In addition to it, they also need Scotland to lose to Australia and the margin of defeat to be of significant numbers because the net run rate of England is even worse than Scotland.
It would be exciting to note which teams defy the odds and make it Super 8 stage or does the top big teams fail to even qualify.
2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Format
Get ready to witness the thrill of cricket like none other, as the T20 World Cup is about to begin, the ultimate cricket showdown will take place in the USA and West Indies this June. The Men’s T20 World Cup will take place in
three formats:
- The group stage
- The Super Eight
- The finals
- The group stage: There are in total 4 groups, A, B, C, and D. There are a total of 20 teams each featuring 5 teams each competing for a spot in the next round. Only the top two teams from each group will advance to the next stage.
- The Super Eight stage: The top 8 qualified teams from the group stage will enter this stage. Here, the eight qualified teams are divided into two groups of four. Each group plays each other once, with the top two teams from each group booking their tickets to the most anticipated phase – the knockout stage!
- Final stage/Knockout stage: the stage where champions are made, the knockout stage has two semifinals followed by the ultimate showdown- “T20 World Cup Final” Only one team out of 20 will turn out to be the ultimate cup holder.
