The playoffs of the ILT20 2025 will now commence on February 5, with the final scheduled for February 9. So here’s a preview for the ILT20 2025 playoffs, including schedule, qualified teams, and venues.
ILT20 2025: Journey to the Playoffs
Desert Vipers: The Vipers were a dominating force throughout the league stage. They started off their campaign with four consecutive wins before Dubai Capitals handed them the first loss. The Vipers then bounced back quickly, winning three of their next five games. Their seven victories pushed them to the top of the points table with 14 points.
Dubai Capitals: The Capitals had a rough start to their season. They began with a close victory in the opening match but then lost the next three encounters. Then DC made a comeback to win five of their next six matches. With six wins, the Capitals finished in the second spot, having 12 points to their name.
MI Emirates: The defending champions MI Emirates had a topsy-turvy ride in the ILT20 2025 season. They lost the hard-fought opening match against DC before experiencing the ups and downs. MI Emirates sneaked in five victories out of their ten matches to round off with 10 points.
Sharjah Warriorz: The Warriorz were almost on the verge of exiting the 2025 season from the league stage. But a dominating win over MI Emirates in their last league game helped them seal the playoff spot. The Warriors started off well, then slumped in the middle before fighting back towards the end. They managed to win five games to finish with 10 points.

ILT20 2025: Desert Vipers vs Dubai Capitals | Qualifier 1 Preview
Desert Vipers and Dubai Capitals have qualified for their third consecutive ILT20 playoffs. Both teams have come close to winning the title but fell short in the 2023 and 2024 finals, respectively.
Now they will go head-on in Qualifier 1 to turn around their luck. And in their group-stage encounters, the Capitals thrashed the Vipers on both occasions.
So the Capitals look favourites to win this clash, but the Vipers have a strong unit. Four of their batters have scored 200-plus runs, while three of their bowlers are among the wickets.
Alex Hales is the Vipers leading run-getter with 286 runs in 10 innings, while Sam Curran (286), Fakhar Zaman (222), and Dan Lawrence (208) follow him. On the wickets count, Wanindu Hasaranga has spun his web across the batters with 11 dismissals. Pacers Mohammad Amir and Lockie Ferguson have also done well with 11 and nine wickets, respectively.
The Capitals, on the other hand, have the top run-scorer on their roster. Shai Hope leads the overall run-chart with 467 runs from 10 innings, while Gulbadin Naib has hammered 314 runs at a strike rate of 158.58. The return of David Warner has further bolstered DC’s batting lineup.
Speaking of their bowling, the pace duo of Dushmantha Chameera (12) and Obed McCoy (10) have troubled batters. Naib has also chipped in with the ball, taking nine wickets.
As both teams look more than prepared, Qualifier 1 scheduled for February 5 will be an epic encounter.

ILT20 2025: MI Emirates vs Sharjah Warriorz | Eliminator Preview
This is the first time Sharjah Warriorz have made it to the ILT20 playoffs. MI Emirates, on the other hand, will make their third appearance with the aim of retaining the title.
One small mistake and MI Emirates will be out of the tournament. But their batting and bowling departments are on fire.
Tom Banton is MI Emirates’s top scorer, having amassed 464 runs, including two centuries, the second-most this season. Their captain, Nicholas Pooran, has assisted well with 259 runs.
The bowlers are also not far behind, with the pace duo of Fazalhaq Farooqi and Alzarri Joseph complimenting well with the batters. Farooqi is the leading wicket-taker of this season with 20 wickets in 10 games, while Joseph has picked up 16 scalps.
It will be a challenge for the Warriorz to counter this power-packed side. Their batting looks firm, but the bowling attack looks slim.
Tom Kohler-Cadmore has scored the most runs for Sharjah, with his tally swelling to 347 in eight outings. He has good company in Johnson Charles, who has accumulated 305 runs at an impressive strike rate of 165.75.
On the bowling front, New Zealand’s pace duo of Adam Milne and Tim Southee have tried to keep things in control. Milne has plucked 11 dismissals, while Southee has mustered eight wickets while leading the team.
With a bit of an imbalance, MI Emirates have a slight edge over the Warriorz in the Eliminator slated for February 6.
