Boland Cricket produced a clinical all-round performance to beat Mountain Province by 39 runs in their CSA Pro T20 Cup fixture at Boland Park. After being asked to set the pace, the home side posted a competitive 141/6 in their 20 overs, a total that proved well beyond Mountain Province’s reach on a surface that offered assistance to both batters and bowlers through the innings.
Boland’s batting unit showed patience in the early overs before accelerating through the middle phase, mixing calculated risks with steady running between the wickets to push the total past the 140-mark. While no single batter dominated with a big hundred, the collective contributions from the top and middle order gave the bowlers something substantial to defend. CricketBuzz understands the team management was pleased with the balance shown with the bat, especially after early hiccups threatened to derail the innings.
Bowlers Seal a Dominant Win
Chasing 142 for victory, Mountain Province never found the rhythm needed against a disciplined Boland bowling attack. Regular wickets at crucial intervals squeezed the required run rate, and the visitors folded for just 102 in their allotted overs, losing all ten wickets. The pacers used the conditions smartly with tight lines, while the spinners choked the scoring in the middle overs, leaving Mountain Province’s batters with little room to rebuild partnerships.
The 39-run margin reflects the gulf between the two sides on the day, with Boland’s fielders also playing their part by converting half-chances into crucial dismissals. As CricketBuzz reported from the ground, the result lifts Boland’s confidence significantly as they continue their campaign in the CSA Pro T20 Cup, while Mountain Province will need to regroup quickly ahead of their next assignment.
