Harshit Rana, the fast-bowling all-rounder, will join the Indian Test team in England, according to a report. He was with the India ‘A’ team for two four-day matches against England Lions and an intra-squad game in Beckenham.
After much speculation, it’s finally confirmed that Rana will stay with the Test team. But it’s still unclear if he will be officially added to the team for the series starting June 20, sources told IANS. Members of the India ‘A’ team who aren’t in the main Test squad or don’t have a county deal may head back home on Tuesday.
Rana played the first match against England Lions at Canterbury where he bowled 1 for 99 and scored 16 runs. He made his Test debut during last year’s tour of Australia where he took 4 wickets at an average of 50.75, his best being 3 for 48 in Perth. He wasn’t picked for the five-match series against England as the selection committee, led by Ajit Agarkar, chose Akash Deep, Arshdeep Singh and Prasidh Krishna along with Jaspreet Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj.
