Mohammed Shami has been added to Bengal’s squad for the upcoming Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024. The pacer has returned to cricketing action after recovering from his injury.
Earlier this month, Shami featured in Bengal’s fifth-round Ranji Trophy match against Madhya Pradesh. He took four wickets in the first innings and further added three more in the second to finish with a seven-wicket match haul.
As Shami proved his fitness in the Ranji game, he has been added to the Syed Mushtaq Ali squad. He will be expected to slowly increase his workload and return to international cricket as soon as possible.
Before his Ranji match, Shami last played in the 2023 ODI World Cup final for India. After that, he was ruled out with an injury for almost a year.
Now that he is bowling at full tilt, he will aim to make a comeback to India’s squad soon. Plus, Shami will also audition for an IPL deal with the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024 to start a day ahead of the auction.
