Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) had a hard time in IPL 2025. Being seventh with six wins and eight losses was not what the fans anticipated. They started out strong, spending INR 27 crore on captain Rishabh Pant and then assembling a solid team; however, the momentum was lost because of injuries and inconsistent performances. Now, with a few roster changes quite possible before the next auction, a couple of very big names could be let go.
3 LSG Players Who Could Be Released Ahead of the IPL 2026 Auction
1. Mayank Yadav:
Post a sensational display in IPL 2024, Mayank faltered in 2025. He was retained for INR 11 crore but could play only two matches in which he could only take two wickets at an average of 50.00 and an economy of 12.50 due to injuries. LSG might consider removing him and try for a more dependable pace bowler.
2. David Miller:
The other big flop, Miller was supposed to be that reliable finisher but there he was finishing low. He made just 153 runs in 11 innings at a strike rate of 127.50, far from what he could have done. LSG might look for younger talent to take over the middle-order role as he gets older at 35.

3. Ravi Bishnoi:
This one might hurt some LSG fans, but Bishnoi’s numbers aren’t great. Retained for INR 11 crore, he went wicketless in a few matches and ended up with just nine wickets from 11 matches at an average of 44.55. A confidence and control problem saw them probably target a better spinner next season.
It’ll be very hard to let them go, but LSG might just have to start thinking differently about the strategy and improving the team for 2026.
