Usman Khawaja is one of the most calm and stylish batters Australia has seen in modern cricket. He is known for his patience, positive mindset, and smooth left-handed batting. His success did not come quickly — he faced many challenges and was dropped from the team several times. But he never gave up and slowly became an important part of Australia’s Test team.
Khawaja was born in Pakistan and grew up in Australia. He made history by becoming the first Muslim and Pakistan-born player to play Test cricket for Australia. Through his performances, he showed that talent and hard work matter more than background or origin. On 2 January 2026, he announced his retirement from international cricket. His last match will be the Sydney Test in the Ashes series, making it a special goodbye at his home ground.
