Ruturaj Gaikwad Performance in IPL 2024
MS Dhoni handed Chennai Super Kings’ captaincy responsibility to Ruturaj Gaikwad just before the start of IPL 2024. It seemed the captaincy pressure would hold him back, but he aced it pretty well.
Gaikwad led from the front as he scored 583 runs in 14 matches at a strike rate of 141.16. He also became the first Chennai captain to score an IPL hundred, hitting an unbeaten 108 against Lucknow Super Giants. He also smashed four fifties while failing short of another century in one innings.
On the captaincy front, though, Gaikwad fared well. He managed to win seven matches out of 14 while losing the half. Chennai finished the 2024 season in fifth spot with 14 points.
