Rinku Singh hogged the limelight in IPL 2023. The reason – the left-hand batter slammed five back-to-back sixes to Gujarat Titans’ Yash Dayal in the last over when Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) needed 28 runs.
That marked the start of Rinku’s incredible run in the IPL, followed by international cricket. He can change the outcome of matches with his batting as a middle-order batter or a finisher.

Rinku Singh IPL Debut
Rinku Singh played his debut IPL match on April 8, 2018. He represented KKR against Royal Challengers Bangalore (now Bengaluru).
Rinku came to bat at No. 6 when KKR were in a comfortable position. But he failed to put up a good performance, scoring run-a-ball six runs.
In his debut season, Rinku made only four appearances and scored 29 runs, with the highest being 16 against Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

Rinku Singh Performance in IPL 2024
Rinku Singh rather had a contrasting outing in IPL 2024 as compared to the 2023 season. He struggled to score runs as he didn’t face many balls coming down the order.
This was largely due to Sunil Narine’s great form with the bat that didn’t provide Rinku much time to bat. Overall, he scored 168 runs in 11 innings at a strike rate of 148.67.
Rinku Singh Last IPL Match
Rinku Singh played his last IPL match on May 26, 2024. He was part of KKR’s squad that beat Sunrisers Hyderabad in the final to lift the trophy. But Rinku didn’t bat in the match as it was a short chase.

Rinku Singh IPL Auction and History
Rinku Singh landed his first IPL gig in the 2017 auction. Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) purchased him at his base price of INR 10 lakhs.
After warming the bench the whole season, Punjab released Rinku ahead of the 2018 season. But in the 2018 auction, Kolkata Knight Riders signed him for INR 80 lakhs.
Later, in 2022, Rinku’s salary dropped to INR 55 lakhs for the next three seasons. But now he will receive a pay cheque of INR 13 crore per season starting IPL 2025.
