Hardik Pandya is one of the best seam-bowling all-rounders India has produced in limited-overs cricket. And this is largely thanks to the IPL, where he attracted the eyeballs first.
Pandya soon made it to India’s squad and has become an irreplaceable member. The same is the story in the IPL, where he first made himself a name with Mumbai Indians (MI) and later led Gujarat Titans (GT) to the title victory.
Here we’ll look at Hardik’s IPL career stats, along with his salary in every season.
Hardik Pandya IPL Debut
Hardik Pandya played his debut match on April 19, 2015. He represented Mumbai Indians for the first time against Royal Challengers Bangalore (now Bengaluru).
Pandya had a small cameo with the bat, scoring 16 off 6 balls in the last over. It pushed MI’s total to 209. But he wasn’t good with the ball, conceding 37 runs in three overs.
Overall, the all-rounder featured in nine matches that season, scoring 112 runs and taking a wicket. His highest score was an unbeaten 61 against Kolkata Knight Riders, which he scored off 31 balls.

Hardik Pandya Performance in IPL 2024
After leading Gujarat in two seasons, Hardik Pandya returned to Mumbai Indians, but this time as their new captain. The decision wasn’t received well by many and faced a lot of flak for it.
Among this drama, Pandya had an average outing in IPL 2024 on his return to MI. He accumulated 216 runs and picked up 11 wickets in 14 matches.
On the captaincy front, Pandya fared poorly, winning only four games out of the 14. It was in contrast to his successful stint with GT in the previous two seasons.

Hardik Pandya IPL Auction and History
Mumbai Indians scouts unearthed Hardik Pandya’s talent and bought him for INR 10 lakhs in the 2015 auction. After his rise as a genuine all-rounder, Pandya’s salary rocketed as MI retained him for INR 11 crore in 2018.
The franchise let go of him after the 2021 season. Then Pandya joined Gujarat Titans as their marquee signing ahead of the 2022 season at INR 15 crore.
After leading GT to the title in 2022 and another final in 2023, MI traded back the star all-rounder at the same price in 2024. Ahead of the 2026 season, MI retained him at INR 16.35 crore.

Want to know which team Hardik Pandya will play for in IPL 2026?
Hardik Pandya came back to Mumbai Indians in 2024 and appointed him as captain. But he didn’t deliver as per the management’s expectations.
Since MI traded Pandya back after paying an exorbitant transfer fee, they wouldn’t have let him go ever after that. So, Mumbai Indians have persisted with Pandya for IPL 2026, and the all-rounder will again lead the rebuilt squad in the upcoming season.
