The T20 World Cup is just around the corner and Canada is all set to give it their all. This would be the first-ever appearance of the team in a men’s T20 World Cup.
The Canadian nation along with the cricketers world wide would especially be looking forward to the matches of the tournament because of the teams that will be part of it. The event will be hosted by the USA and the West Indies from June 1st to June 29th’ 2024. 20 teams will be participating in the upcoming 9th edition of the tournament.
Each team participating will play at least four matches in the initial group and the winners would advance themselves into Super 8’s stage. The teams that would qualify for this stage would then be playing three matches to determine the semi-finalists.
The semi-finals of the event will then take place in Trinidad and Tobago and Guyana, finally leading up to the final, scheduled to be held in Barbados on June 29.

Canada is placed in Group A for the T20 World Cup 2024 along with India, Pakistan, USA and Ireland. It will be competing against two well-experienced teams and fellow North American players.
Canada T20 Squad Captain: Saad Bin Zafar
The Canada T20 squad for the World Cup T20 would be captained by Saad Bin Zafar. He is a left-handed all-rounder known for his slow left-arm-orthodox bowling and capable batting style.
He has made a world record for bowling a full quota of overs in a T20I match without letting the opposing batsman score any runs. He also has a record of scoring the highest strike rates in T20I Innings.
Saad has played for many domestic and T20 franchise teams including the Vancouver Knights in the Global T20, making significant contributions.
