In IPL 2025, everyone is talking about Match No. 63 of MI vs. DC. With three teams already in the playoffs, MI and DC are fighting for what remains of the last slot. It is interesting to note that both lost to GT at their very homes.
Against GT in Mumbai, MI had a crazy day wherein, initially, things were going against them. GT started really well by dismissing the MI openers, but Will Jacks and Suryakumar Yadav managed to put some runs on the board. Things began to get messy towards the end of the innings as GT looked to turn the tide back in their favor with their batting. There was a rain-delay, and after resumption of play, GT needed 15 runs off the last over. Deepak Chahar had his work cut out for him as he bowled the last over full of thrills which ended in a nail-biter with GT emerging winners.
The match in Delhi between DC and GT was rather straightforward. KL Rahul began cautiously, but he went on to score a century, and supported well by his teammates, chased the 200-run target with ease. It was tough for DC to lose as Karun Nair tried to keep things up but just could not take them over the finish line.
In the earlier part of the tournament, MI and DC met up in Delhi, where MI put a good score on the board thanks to the efforts of Ryan Rickelton and Suryakumar Yadav. DC’s chase began on a scratch as Jake Fraser-McGurk fell to the first ball. Karun Nair was a ray of hope, but once he got out, things fell apart in a swift manner, and they lost three quick wickets by the end, just short of winning.
With the crucial match being so eagerly awaited, there are some exciting player matchups to look forward to.
KL Rahul vs. Jasprit Bumrah
Rahul actually seems to be back in form and, considering the rough patch he had against Bumrah where he scored 146 runs from 118 balls and got out twice, he should be able to do more damage this time.

Suryakumar Yadav vs. Axar Patel
SKY has been scoring runs all season, and managing Axar’s spin will be the next challenge. He’s scored 53 runs off 10 encounters with Axar and has been dismissed just once. The strike rate unfortunately is not that good, so it would be interesting to see how it pans out.
