India A squads announced for Australia tour in August. 3 T20Is, 3 ODIs and 1 four-day game.
One-day and four-day teams are the same but the T20 team has a few changes. Radha Yadav will lead both teams. Shafali Verma who hasn’t been in the ODI team lately is in both squads.
Shreyanka Patil is interestingly included in T20 team. Since her injury in October 2024 she hasn’t played any cricket. Her selection depends on her getting medical clearance from the BCCI Centre of Excellence. If she gets clearance her return to full fitness is good news for the all-rounder who missed big events like T20 World Cup 2024 and Women’s Premier League. Priya Mishra, a talented leg-spinner is another player whose inclusion depends on her fitness. She’s expected to play one-day games but not in T20 team.
This India A tour is an opportunity for players to stake their claim for senior team. Minnu Mani is the vice-captain and players like Saima Thakor, Titas Sadhu and Unma Chetry are in both squads.
The tour starts with T20Is on August 7 and ends with four-day games at Allan Border Field on August 24.
