Bangladesh has come a long way in T20 international cricket. Over the last 20 years they have had some great matches, played well as a team. One way to see how they have improved is to look at the matches they won by a big margin. Here are Bangladesh’s 5 biggest T20I wins by runs, how they have grown.
1. 84-Run Win vs PNG – Al Amerat, 2021
Bangladesh’s biggest T20I win was during the ICC T20 World Cup 2021. They played against Papua New Guinea in Al Amerat, Oman and really dominated. Batting first they scored 181, Mahmudullah scored a half century. Then PNG was bowled out for 97, Shakib Al Hasan took 4 wickets. It was an easy win and Bangladesh felt confident and made it to the Super 12.
2. 83-Run Win vs Sri Lanka – Dambulla, 2025
This win was special because it was against a tough team like Sri Lanka and in their home ground in Dambulla. Bangladesh batted first and scored 177, Towhid Hridoy (31) and Litton Das (76) played well. Then their bowlers, Rishad Hossain and Shoriful Islam, got through Sri Lanka’s batting lineup. 3. 80-Run Win vs West Indies – Kingstown, 2024
The 80-run win against West Indies in the 3rd T20I in Kingstown in 2024 was another great show. People thought West Indies would give Bangladesh a tough time but it didn’t happen. The Tigers’ all-rounders played well with both bat and ball. After setting a big target of 190, their bowlers kept West Indian batsmen to 109/10, forced mistakes and put them under pressure. People liked the win because of Bangladesh’s smart planning and aggressive play.
4. 77-Run Win vs Ireland
Chattogram, 2023 Playing at home in Chattogram, Bangladesh had everything in their favor in this match. Litton Das’ 83 off 41 balls helped the team to score a big total of 202 in the first innings. They used the conditions well and again showed they have strong batting. Ireland struggled with the score and the spinners went through their batting order, restricted them to 125 and won by 77 runs. It was a team effort and part of a good run Bangladesh had that year in white-ball cricket.
