In the third Test against England at Lord’s in London, India needed 193 runs to win. The top order batsmen struggled and then Jadeja batted well till the end. Though he batted well, India lost by 22 runs. Still Jadeja’s determination pleased many.
Jadeja was in news for another reason in April 2014: a late night chat with Sarah Taylor, the former England women’s wicketkeeper, went public.
During the T20 World Cup in April 2014, a private conversation between Jadeja and Taylor was exposed on social media. Jadeja messaged Sarah late night on April 7. Since he wasn’t following her, the message was public.

Sarah replied and kept talking. Within an hour and a half, she had tweeted at him almost twelve times, all visible to the public as Jadeja was tagged in each post. One message that went viral was “Tomorrow night. U? Another was “10 am pool?
The Twitter (now X) conversation went viral and fans were interested. Though what they talked about was not known, it was remembered for a while and became one of the most talked about off-field moments for Jadeja.
