1. Chris Gayle – 175*

Many consider Chris Gayle’s 175* against Pune Warriors in 2013 to be the greatest T20 innings ever. After Pune chose to field, Gayle went on the attack, hitting 13 fours and 17 sixes in 66 balls. He was close to a double century before slowing down slightly. His effort took RCB to 263/5, which was then the highest total in IPL history. This innings cemented Gayle’s place as an IPL and T20 legend, and the score remains the highest individual score in both formats.
2. Brendon McCullum – 158*

Brendon McCullum’s 158\* for KKR against RCB in the opening match of the first IPL in 2008 was what the IPL needed. McCullum smashed 13 sixes and 10 fours off 73 balls to make 158\*. This was the first time someone had scored more than 150 in a T20 match. KKR scored 222/3 and RCB was eliminated with 82 runs.
3. Abhishek Sharma – 141

Abhishek Sharma broke KL Rahul’s record of highest score by an Indian batsman in the IPL 2025. After Iyer’s innings helped PBKS to 245, Travis Head (66) and Abhishek Sharma went after the PBKS bowlers to start the chase, adding 171 runs for the first wicket. Abhishek Sharma hit 14 fours and 10 sixes in his knock, scoring 141 runs in 55 balls.
4. Quinton de Kock – 140*

Quinton de Kock makes the list. In this IPL 2022 match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Lucknow Super Giants at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, de Kock hit 10 sixes and 10 fours in 70 balls to make 140*. KKR chased well and Rinku Singh’s 15-ball 40 took KKR to 208/8 but they lost by 2 runs.
5. AB de Villiers – 133*

AB de Villiers makes a second appearance on this list, this time for RCB. In the IPL 2015, his 133\* was against Mumbai Indians at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. After Chris Gayle was out for 13, Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers added 215 runs for the second wicket without being separated. Virat Kohli scored 82 off 51 balls with 6 fours and 4 sixes while AB de Villiers hit 19 fours and 4 sixes for 133*.
6. KL Rahul – 132*

KL Rahul was the Punjab captain for two seasons. His highest IPL score of 132* was one of those innings where he scored a lot. Against RCB in Dubai during IPL 2020, this happened. Punjab captain KL was asked to bat first and he replied with 14 fours and 7 sixes for 132* at a strike rate of 191.30.
7. Shubman Gill – 129

Shubman Gill was excellent in IPL 2023 with 890 runs in 16 games. Almost won the Gujarat Titans their second title in a row, he scored three centuries in the tournament and this was his highest score. Against Mumbai Indians in Ahmedabad, he played and scored 129. He hit 10 sixes and 7 fours to help GT reach 233/3 in 60 balls and Sai Sudharsan scored 63.
8. Rishabh Pant – 128*

Rishabh Pant’s breathtaking 128* Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) played Sunrisers Hyderabad in match 42 of IPL 2018 in Delhi. DD captain Shreyas Iyer decided to bat. Rishabh Pant’s 128* in 63 balls was the highlight of the DD innings of 187/5. He hit 15 boundaries and 7 sixes during his innings. Rishabh Pant was just 21 years old and this was the first glimpse of his batting talent.
