Afghanistan is scheduled to visit Zimbabwe for a short competition in October 2025 for one Test and 3 T20Is. All matches will be played at Harare Sports Club. Initially, the two were supposed to play two Tests, three ODIs, and three T20Is as part of the international cricket calendar; however, the series downsized.
The Test will be from October 20 to 24, and the three T20s are on October 29, 31, and November 2.
Strangely, this will be the 1st red-ball match since four years to be played at Harare Sports Club. Zimbabwe’s home Tests have been through a rough patch being mostly held at Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo, and in that venue, they have found no joy- surely losing all nine Tests staged there.
Zimbabweans will have their 10th Test of the year. In 2025, they have seen big names like England, New Zealand, South Africa, Bangladesh, and Ireland at the little-over-a-five-day format. On the other hand, Afghanistan will tour Zimbabwe for the second time in less than a year. They had visited early last year and this year, touring Zimbabwe for the full spectrum of matches spanning Tests, ODIs, and T20Is. Afghanistan swept past Zimbabwe in every format.
Excitement says Zimbabwe Cricket
Zimbabwe Cricket Managing Director Givemore Makoni expressed his excitement over the impending games:
“We are delighted to be hosting Afghanistan once again, this time for a one-off Test followed by three T20Is in Harare.”

“Encounters between Zimbabwe and Afghanistan have become keenly contested and entertaining, and we are confident this upcoming tour will deliver more of the same for our fans.”
The last time the two teams contested a Test series, Afghanistan won it 1-0 with the second Test in Bulawayo being the decider; star all-rounder Rashid Khan was pivotal in that victory with a match haul of 11 wickets.

- One-off Test – October 20-24
- 1st T20I – October 29
