The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 auction is around the corner and therefore, many international players will be auctioned. A few of such players have not participated in the IPL before. These players have displayed their skills either in international T20 matches or in the top franchise leagues across the globe.
Talent of many international players has been discovered in leagues like Major League Cricket (MLC), The Hundred, the T20 Blast, and the Big Bash League (BBL). Talking about recent performances, it seems that some of these overseas players are going to be one of the most wanted factors for IPL teams. Featured here are –
Five Star Overseas Players Unpicked by IPL
Finn Allen
In the 2021 IPL season, Finn Allen was part of Royal Challengers Bengaluru after the Replacement of Josh Philippe, but did not play that season.
He has been in good form lately. Finn scored 333 runs in 9 innings during the MLC 2025 season. This year, he has 144 runs at a 36 average in 5 innings in T20I matches. In a T20 match against Washington Freedom for San Francisco Unicorns, he hit an astonishing 151 runs off just 51 balls and broke the men’s T20 match record with 19 sixes. The ability to hit the ball so much will definitely tempt multiple teams at the auction. He can be considered one of the players who may win bids during the auction.
Ben Dwarshuis
Ben Dwarshuis could be one of the players who will take IPL 2026 auction by storm. He originally was on the roster of Kings XI Punjab in 2018 (now Punjab Kings) and then Delhi Capitals in 2021 but he was unable to get an official debut in the IPL. In T20 he has been a bowler to watch with 20 wickets in 11 matches and gradually also being a star in global franchise leagues.
In T20 Blast 2025, he was able to secure 18 wickets from 13 matches and further helped his team by scoring 226 runs in 11 innings. While playing in Big Bash League 2024–25, he made a total of 14 wickets along with 146 runs. Dwarshuis seems to be an essential signing for teams who are in search of a reliable all-rounder.
Ben Duckett
Ben Duckett has really been a reasonable player in T20 cricket with an average of 29.27 and a remarkable strike rate of 153.64. The specialty of Duckett is that he can play comfortably against both pace and spin.
In the BBL 2024–25 season, he was able to record 243 runs off 7 matches with an average of 34.71 and a strike rate of 154.77. He usually maintains a strike rate of above 150 which gives an evidence to his rapid scoring and fast starts during the powerplay. Duckett could turn out to be a great asset for any team looking for a top order batter.
Jamie Smith
Jamie Smith is one of the future draft picks from the auction. The reason for the teams’ interest is the combination of a top order batter and a wicketkeeper.
He has a record of five T20I matches so far for England scoring 130 runs at a batting average of 26. In The Hundred 2025, he became a leading run-getter with 203 runs in seven innings. Being technically sound and capable of playing both aggressive and steady innings, Jamie Smith might be the next star for the team who is ready with a long-term plan.
Jordan Cox
Jordan Cox has been noticed and he got the spotlight due to his great performances in 2025. He was able to score 342 runs in 10 matches in T20 Blast at an average of 38. The next stop for him was The Hundred where he surprised everyone by scoring 367 runs in 9 matches at a stunning average of 61.16 with a strike rate of 173.93.
Up until now, he has garnered a total of 88 runs in four T20I innings, out of which 55 runs were from a fifty against Ireland in September. Most of the time, he comes to the crease at number three and his skill to hit the ball far and stay in the field for a long time makes him a good candidate for the auction for all the teams that are planning to reinforce their top order.
