After a convincing victory over India in the Boxing Day Test in Melbourne, Australia are heading into the Sydney Test with confidence. They are leading the five-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024- 25 (BGT) by 2-1, and a win in the fifth Test in Sydney will see them win the series.
The Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) has seen Australia dominate the visitors since 1882. And the hosts will look to keep their record intact as they square off against India here starting January 3, 2025.

Australia’s Performance at the SCG since 2000
Australia’s record at the SCG from 2000 onwards is even more remarkable. They have faced defeats in only two Tests at the hands of England in 2003 and 2011. But after that, they haven’t lost a Test in Sydney.
On the flip side, the hosts have won 18 Test matches here from 2000 to 2024, while seven games ended in draws.
