South African pacer Anrich Nortje is one of the fastest bowlers going around. He has the ability to bowl at a speed of over 150 km/h consistently. He recorded the tenth fastest ball in the IPL. He did it against Rajasthan Royals in 2020 while playing for Delhi Capitals, when he bowled at a speed of 154.7 km/h.

9. Umran Malik – 154.8 Kmph
Jammu & Kashmir-born pacer Umran Malik made the name for himself with his speed and became the overnight star while playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad. He also had a couple of good seasons for them. During the IPL 2022, he bowled a thunderbolt at a speed clocking at 154.8 km/h against Delhi Capitals.
8. Anrich Nortje – 155.1 Kmph
Nortje makes second entry on this list because he has the habit to hit the lift-threatening speed with the cricket ball. During the 2020 edition, in the same game against Rajasthan Royals, he bowled a ball at a fiery speed of 155.1 km/h to register one of the fastest balls in IPL history.
7. Mayank Yadav – 155.8 Kmph
The Delhi-born pacer made his IPL debut in 2024 but unfortunately played only four games and was ruled out due to injury. But those four matches were enough for him to make his mark. Umran Malik had a fantastic 2022 for Sunrisers Hyderabad, where he took 25 wickets, most for the franchise, and also bowled some really quick balls. Umran Malik has bowled the fastest ball by an Indian pacer in the history of the Indian Premier League. That ball also came during his best season in 2022. Umran’s 157 kmph was the fastest ball during the 2022 edition, until New Zealand’s speedster Lockie Ferguson piped him in the final against Rajasthan Royals. Ferguson, who has a clean action and loves bowling fast, recorded the speed of 157.3 km/h to register the second fastest ball in IPL history.
