Gujarat Titans made history when they won their maiden season in 2022. But that win came under the leadership of Hardik Pandya. The franchise also made it to the final of the 2023 season, but they couldn’t make it to the playoffs in 2024 under new captain Shubman Gill. So, with the new season coming up, every IPL franchise has started their preparation for the IPL 2025.
But the next season will come up with a mega auction where all ten teams have to release most of their stars. So far, the rule says that a team can only retain a maximum of 6 players including Right To Match, and other players will enter the auction. 1. Shubman Gill
Without a doubt, the first name on the retention list will be captain Shubman Gill. He was grown as a future captain, and now that he has also made his captaincy debut for India, Gill will be the one to lead GT in the IPL 2025. He is also their highest scorer. The captain scored 426 runs in 12 innings with one century and two half-centuries. Hence, the franchise will look to retain their captain.
2. Rashid Khan
Rashid Khan is one of the best T20I players in the world right now. His is a match-winner and his impact on the game is huge. He is the leading wickettaker for GT in the IPL with 56 wickets. Rashid is among the core players for the franchise in this league, and with his stature, the franchise will want to stick with the leg-spinner.
3. David Miller
The veteran South African batter is likely to be the second overseas pick for Gujarat Titans. He has been with the team from the start and has been a consistent batter in the middle order. His experience and ability to win games in pressure situations make him an important player to any batting unit. Miller scored 205 runs in nine innings; he played in 2024. So, he is likely to be retained by the franchise ahead of the IPL 2024 auction.

4. Sai Sudharsan
This could be a bold choice, but if we look at the performances, Sai Sudarshan is one name that is a very solid performer for GT. He is the second highest scorer for the franchise in the IPL and the fastest Indian to reach 1000 IPL runs. He scored most runs for them in 2024. The left-hander scored 527 runs at an average of 47.90 and a strike rate of 141.28, with one century and two half-centuries.
5. Mohammad Shami
Mohammad Shami is an experienced Indian fast bowler who plays an important role in GT’s bowling lineup. Known for his ability to take early wickets and performing well in the death overs. Shami has consistently delivered for the team with 48 wickets to his name. His skills make him a strong choice to keep on the team as they look to succeed in the next season.
6. Rahul Tewatia
Rahul Tewatia has established himself as a crucial all-rounder for the team, known for his explosive batting and handy spin bowling. His ability to change games with his batting in the middle order, combined with his bowling versatility, makes him a valuable asset.
