The 18th season of the Indian Premier League 2025 has reached its business end. Two teams that are searching for their first IPL title, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) have qualified for the title clash. Both teams finished in the top 2 before the playoffs.

IPL 2025: Journey to the final
Royal Challengers Bangalore: The Rajat Patidar-led side finished second in the points table with nine wins, four losses and a no result after 14 games. They finished second only because of the lesser NRR than Punjab Kings. RCB beat PBKS in the Qualifier 1 to enter into the final.
Punjab Kings: For the first time after 2014, the 2014 finalists topped the points table. Just like RCB, they also won nine, lost four and one match ended as no result in the league stage. After losing to RCB in the Qualifier 1, the Shreyas Iyer-led side beat the five-time former champions, Mumbai Indians to reach the final.
