This is where all the young cricketers come to prove themselves: in IPL. Over the years, numerous Indian batsmen have come up to make their own names with some brilliant shows, not to say it hasn’t been quite a sight. Check out some of the youngest players to ever have played in an IPL match and score more than 50 runs in that match.
1. Vaibhav Suryavanshi – 14 years and 32 days
In only his third IPL game, way back in season 2025, Vaibhav Suryavanshi blasted the house down against Gujarat Titans with a staggering 11 sixes and seven fours. He achieved his first half-century at 14 years and 32 days, capped off with a stunning 35-ball century, becoming the youngest player to score fifty-plus runs in IPL.
2. Riyan Parag – 17 years and 175 days
First fifty came at the age of 17 years and 175 days for Riyan Parag in 2019. It was a poorly flashy innings where he batted sacrosanct for such a few deliveries after others fell like a pack of cards all around him-with four to go in his side’s seventh wicket. In such case, he took 49 deliveries to make 50 runs, which included four fours and two sixes. It was quite a knock that managed to take Rajasthan Royals to 115 runs before losing to Delhi Capitals.
3. Sanju Samson – 18 Years 169 Days
After leading Rajasthan Royals to a win against Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2013, scoring 63 runs off 41 balls, Sanju Samson is now in the limelight. At 18 years and 169 days, he effortlessly chased down a target of 172 runs to earn the ‘Player of the Match’ award.
4. Prithvi Shaw – 18 years and 169 days
In his second match only, Prithvi Shaw scored 62 runs with 44 balls against Kolkata Knight Riders, 2018. He opened for the Delhi Daredevils (now Capitals). In such an innings, he hit seven fours and two sixes, pushing the total to 219 runs, while considering among the youngest players scoring a half-century in IPL.
