Popular India cricketer Kapil Dev is arguably one of the greatest players, not only for India but in global cricket too. He was one of the top all-rounders who competed with Imran Khan (Pakistan), Richard Hadlee (New Zealand), and Ian Botham (England). The comparison of these players were constant but one thing is for certain. Had Dev not played alongside these cricketers, he would have easily become the best cricketer.
This doesn’t take away his legacy. Given the fact that India, on average, plays one out of every two Tests at home, the all-rounder took 434 wickets in Tests. In ODIs, the Chandigarh player took 253 wickets. In 1983, the legendary cricketer led India to their maiden World Cup, beating the then defending champions, West Indies. After retiring from the game in 1994-95, he became India’s head coach in the next few years.
The stint didn’t end well after Manoj Prabhakar alleged a match-fixing offer from the former India skipper, only for it to be debunked later. He returned to the game after a few years and joined the NCA. In the last few years, he has not taken up the commentary jobs but his investments have kept his income going. Let’s have a deep dive on Kapil Dev’s Net Worth.
