The pace spearhead for India against England in the third T20I will be Arshdeep Singh. The third T20I of the ongoing five-match series between India and England is scheduled for Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot. Arshdeep is currently India’s leading wicket-taker in the shortest format of the game, having bagged three wickets in the two matches he has played so far. During the third T20I, Arshdeep will have a chance of creating history: if the left-handed pace bowler from Punjab takes two or more scalps in Rajkot, he will break the record of fellow left-arm pacer from Pakistan, Haris Rauf, as the quickest fast bowler in the world to take 100 wickets in shortest format.
Haris, who has so far managed to snag 110 wickets in 79 T20I matches, got his landmark 100th wicket in the 71st match. On the other hand, Arshdeep has taken almost 98 wickets in 62 matches.

Rashid Khan, Afghanistan’s premier spinner and T20I captain, is the holder of this record, with him being the fastest bowler (including pacer and spin) in the world to reach 100 T20I wickets. Rashid went in for this mark when he reached 100 wickets in 53 matches. Sandeep Lamichhane from Nepal got to the landmark of wickets taken in his 54th match. If Arshdeep takes two wickets on Tuesday, he has the claim of making the 100th wicket in his 63rd match like Sri Lankan all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga.
If Arshdeep takes two wickets on Tuesday, he will become the first Indian bowler to reach the 100 T20I wickets milestone.

Hardik Pandya, star all-rounder, will also have the opportunity to confirm himself as India’s second-highest wicket-taker in T20Is during the third match of the series. Hardik, along with two other Indian cricketers, has so far played more than 100 T20Is, and he needs five more wickets to overtake Yuzvendra Chahal, as he has so far captured 92 wickets.
Chahal, who last played a T20 match for India in August 2023 against the West Indies, duly accounts for the fall of 96 batsmen in 80 matches.
If Washington Sundar picks up two wickets against the English in second match, he will then become the 11th Indian bowler to take 50 wickets in T20Is.
