It will be hot and it will be fierce as the best Asian teams battle it out in the UAE.
The big question is will India play Pakistan. Even if the tournament happens, people are anxious to know if the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will allow the Indian team to play against their arch rivals.
After the terror attacks and with the elections on, there’s a lot of pressure to cut off cricketing ties with Pakistan.
This anger even affected the World Championship of Legends recently. The match between India and Pakistan had to be cancelled because of the backlash. Players like Shikhar Dhawan, Harbhajan Singh, Suresh Raina and Irfan Pathan pulled out at the last minute.

If India and Pakistan are in different groups, that’s one thing. But if they both make it to the Super 4s or the final, they will have to play each other.
The Asia Cup Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Dhaka will be crucial. BCCI will be attending virtually so it seems like the tournament will get approved. Even with dates and venues confirmed, the biggest issue is still whether India and Pakistan will play each other.
Will politics get in the way of cricket again? Or will fans finally get to see the big game they’ve been waiting for? We will have to wait and see but the Asia Cup 2025 is looking much more likely now. This is a big step towards making it happen. Fans around the world are waiting for the final confirmation and the schedule. Will the excitement around this tournament translate into record breaking viewership and engagement? Only time will tell. Now all eyes are on the AGM and the subsequent announcements.
