Another very good sign for the Delhi Capitals this season is that Faf du Plessis has come back to the franchise for the remainder of IPL 2025. There had been rumors of him possibly sitting out the rest of the season, but he has, fortunately, decided to return to India-an addition which is surely going to act as a boost for the Capitals in their chase for a playoff spot.
As well as Faf, Tristan Stubbs has also rejoined the squad. Both players had been back in South Africa after IPL got suspended because of the tensions between India and Pakistan. Faf had a completely mixed performance in 6 innings before the break, aggregating 168 runs. On the other hand, Tristan was on top of his game, scoring 259 runs in 10 innings.

With Faf and Stubbs back, the Capitals will still miss another one in the ranks, though; Mitchell Starc has pulled out of the tournament ahead of the WTC final at Lord’s. Starc was their number one bowler before the break, damaging almost all batsmen and creating 14 wickets in 12 games, so this loss will put a heavy toll on the Capitals. They will play their 12th group-stage match against the Gujarat Titans on Sunday.
