Faf du Plessis, one of the greatest cricketers ever, provides the Nepal T20 league with a lot of international cricket experience. The ex-captain of the Proteas has played more than 300 international matches and has scored over 11,000 runs in all formats.
He is known for his superb captaincy, excellent fielding, and impressive batting that brought wins to various teams like CSK in IPL, Joburg Super Kings, and RCB.
Faf du Plessis has made the announcement that has delighted his fans, particularly the ones in Nepal. The retired international batsman is 41 and he has agreed to participate in the Nepal Premier League 2025, which is going to happen next. It is a beneficial moment for Nepal cricket to have an asset like du Plessis in their T20 League, which can help them to be noticed more in the global market of franchise leagues.
The Nepal Premier League will be on its second season this year and the tournament will take place from November 17 to December 13, 2025. After a successful inaugural season last year, the league comes back with more exciting plays and star players. Another T20 star, Rashid Khan, also by featuring in the league is set to play for the Kathmandu Gorkhas.
Last year Janakpur Bolts won the title and they will try to keep it this year. On the other hand, the newly added player du Plessis in the Biratnagar squad has made them a strong contender for the title this year. The right-handed batsman was also good during his participation in this year’s Indian Premier League edition, while he played with the Delhi Capitals. The Biratnagar Kings will be anticipating the same standard of performance from him when he puts on their jersey this season.
