Sunrisers Hyderabad Harshal Patel has now joined an elite group of bowlers in the Indian Premier League. During the match against Lucknow Super Giants on Monday at Ekana Cricket Stadium, he made his 150th wicket. Harshal used a slower ball to dismiss Aiden Markram, thus putting an end to the opening batsmen’s robust start for LSG.
Stranger than that is that Harshal is now the fastest in terms of balls bowled to take 150 wickets, breaking the record held by the legendary Lasith Malinga. Malinga took 2,444 balls to reach this feat, while Harshal bettered that record by a margin of 63 balls. He’s proven to be a regular wicket-taker despite his alarming economy rate of 9.59 for this season.

Anyway, for the rest of the season, SRH have already been knocked out of the play-offs after struggling since being last season’s runners-up, and so the focus now is on accumulating points in their remaining matches. Sunrisers’ captain Pat Cummins tossed the coin and elected to field against LSG. There were a few changes in the side with Harsh Dubey and Atharva Taide coming in for Travis Head and Jaydev Unadkat. LSG also handed Will O’Rourke from New Zealand his IPL debut as a replacement for David Miller.
