Before the match, Coach Gautam Gambhir was present at the Oval on Tuesday. Sources say he had a big argument with the pitch curator on the field. The reason is not known. According to TOI, he told the curator not to talk to him. This is a sign of growing tension as the match is just two days away. India is behind in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy series.
Why was Gambhir Angry?
This is unexpected, especially at this time. Something must have annoyed him. Not a good sign for the team as they want to win at the Oval.
Gambhir recently praised Rishabh Pant for what he did in Manchester. Pant batted with a broken toe. Gambhir said Pant has created a legacy that will last forever.

Rishabh’s efforts will be the foundation of this Test team. I don’t usually talk about individual players but you have inspired your teammates and the next generation. You have created this legacy for yourself and everyone in the room. Well done and the country is happy with you.
