The Indian head coach, Gautam Gambhir, opened up about how he and Virat Kohli get along. According to Gambhir, all is well between them and that their relationship penetrates beyond what people generally hype for views and promotions.
Gambhir and Kohli have had their drama ever since their 2013 on-field confrontation, with Gambhir playing for Kolkata Knight Riders and Kohli for Royal Challengers Bangalore. The Egos once again came into collision in 2023, with Gambhir as mentor to the Lucknow Super Giants. The piquancy is often set up by spectators and broadcasters anytime their teams meet each other, but presently, the two are reunited in the Indian team and have created some lovely facilitation.
“I find it amusing how the media makes a big deal out of it for views,” said Gambhir during an interview with CNN-News18. “When you’re playing for different teams, it’s natural to want to fight for your team. But when you’re on the same team, the goal is to get results. Everything is cool between me and Virat. In fact, I get along well with everyone.”

Gambhir was straightforward when asked whether a dinner or a drink was ever used to settle disputes after a tough game. “I won’t name names, but I’ve had some heated moments on the field and then shared a meal. Once the game is over, what happens on the field stays there, and we can get back to normal.” He had said that he has always been able to move past any on-field conflicts.
