India’s tour of England begins tomorrow, June 20 and the U-19 team is ready. Before they left, captain Ayush Mhatre had a special send-off where he met Rohit Sharma at his home. Rohit gave the young opener a signed bat for encouragement. Mhatre who also plays for Chennai Super Kings shared his excitement on Instagram with a photo and the caption, A bat, a blessing and a memory of a lifetime — thank you Rohit da.
BCCI’s Junior Cricket Committee announced two changes in the team. D Deepesh and Naman Pushpak are replacing Aditya Rana and Khilan Patel who both got injured during the high-performance camp in Chennai. Rana has a stress fracture in his lower back and Patel has a stress reaction in his right leg.

Also in the team is 14 year old batting sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi who made waves in IPL 2025 as the youngest men’s T20 centurion, scoring 101 runs off 35 balls for Rajasthan Royals against Gujarat Titans. He ended the season with 252 runs at a strike rate of 206.56. Mhatre also had a good IPL scoring 206 runs in 6 matches at a strike rate of 187.27 including a 94 against RCB.

Mhatre had a good overall IPL, scoring 240 runs in 7 innings at 34.29 and a strike rate of 188.98 with a big 94 off 48 balls against RCB in the 52nd match.
