Since their poor 2025 season, the team seems to be planning big changes. Chandrakant Pandit, the head coach and Bharat Arun, the bowling coach are no more with the team. Now, news is that they are also looking to revamp their squad and KL Rahul is top of the list. Gaurav Gupta from Times of India says that the 2024 champions want to trade for the Indian batsman from Delhi Capitals.

Why KKR wants KL Rahul
The trade window is open and teams can sign players from other teams for next season. KKR wants KL Rahul to fix some issues they had last season.
First, Quinton de Kock and Rahmanullah Gurbaz didn’t perform as wicket-keepers and openers as expected. Getting Rahul would solve this issue.
Second, Ajinkya Rahane had a tough time as the captain of the Knights. People criticized Rahane’s decisions as captain in the middle of 2025 IPL season. Rahul has led a team in this big league before so KKR would have a real option for captain in 2026.
