The Express Sports reports that KL Rahul does not want to join the India A side right at the start, planning to fly over to England in time for the match. He intends to use this second of two unofficial Tests as an opportunity to further groom himself in preparation for the Test series ahead. Rahul is set to depart for England on Monday, June 2, just a few days before the warm-up clash.
KL Rahul has always been an important player in Tests with India, and his experience definitely will be valuable for the team in this series. In another way, the warm-up matches against the Lions should help him gear up to face some tricky swinging deliveries in the official matches.

“He’ll be leaving on Monday and will play in that second warm-up game. Since he’s part of the senior men’s team set to play the series of five Tests, these matches will really help him get some necessary game time and practice,” said one source from BCCI.
