So is MS Dhoni going to be on the big screen? A new teaser by Bollywood’s R Madhavan featuring Dhoni as an officer has the internet buzzing.
The short video shows Madhavan and Dhoni dressed in tactical gear, bulletproof vests and shades, looking like they’re ready for action. They even have guns and fans are going crazy about this new project that’s coming soon.
Madhavan posted the teaser on Instagram but didn’t reveal what the project is. Is it a web series? A movie? Something else?
His caption read: One mission. Two fighters. Get ready – it’s going to be a wild ride. ‘The Chase’ teaser is out now. Directed by Vasan Bala. Coming soon.
Fans are already going nuts. One wrote, Dhoni as a hero! There’s a reason he’s called Thala! Another said, This has to be a movie; the trailer is amazing. Some are guessing it might just be an ad.
It’s worth remembering that MS Dhoni is an Honorary Lieutenant Colonel in the Parachute Regiment of the Indian Territorial Army. He got that rank from the Indian Army in 2011.
As for Dhoni’s cricket career, he’s on a break right now. His last game was in May during the Indian Premier League 2024 match between Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans.
Dhoni retired from international cricket in August 2020 but is still playing in the IPL. Last year, CSK retained him as an uncapped player for Rs 4 crore.
Captain Cool led CSK to a record-tying five IPL titles and is the only captain to ever win all three big ICC white-ball trophies. Under his leadership, India won the 2007 T20 World Cup, the 2011 Cricket World Cup and the 2013 Champions Trophy.
