Bangladesh’s left-arm bowler Mustafizur Rehman will miss the T20I series against Pakistan after he was injured during a game in IPL 2025, according to the ICC official site. The news was shared on Sunday by ESPN Cricinfo, mentioning that the team physiotherapist of Bangladesh, Delowar Hossain, assessed the situation.
“Mustafizur has a clip fracture on his left thumb from his last IPL match,” Hossain said in an interview with ESPN Cricinfo. “He’ll need some time to rest and recover. Right now, it looks like he’ll be out for about two to three weeks. We’ll check on his recovery in two weeks.”
Khaled Ahmed will replace Mustafizur, becoming the third player to leave the squad for the series starting on May 28 in Lahore. Nahid Rana has declined to participate due to personal reasons and Soumya Sarkar is out with back pain, thus his replacement is Mehidy Hasan Miraz.

In a very successful domestic season, Khaled took 20 wickets in the Bangladesh Premier League recently. The three T20Is between Bangladesh and Pakistan will have Lahore as the venue on May 28, 30, and June 1, and these are going to be Bangladesh’s opportunity to bounce back after being defeated by UAE 2-1 in Sharjah.
