The Assessment protocols are being carried out now for Ravindra under the coach Stead headship. Unfortunately, due to this injury, he was out of the game during that time due to a momentary lapse from there trying to perform an outstanding catch in the ball. However, it still didn’t go away without a few bruises. “He had a headache for two days after he was hit on the head, but some solid tonic made him feel good again,” said Gary Stead.
Having suffered injury due to a blow to the forehead after a catch attempt, Ravindra was forced to abandon the match. This happened when they played Pakistan the last time during last week’s ODI tri-series.

Stead went on to assert that the player was yet to play in the semifinals against South Africa this Thursday in Karachi, and it wasn’t likely that he would be back in action before Friday. On Thursday night, he had started to feel light-headed, albeit only in preparations to take to the pitch once again.
“He’s making good progress, which is pleasing. Right now, we’re observing (the protocols) for any assessment regarding head injuries,” Stead noted in a video shared by BlackCaps.
“The good news is that he had a headache for a few days and that is subsiding. Tonight will mark the first time he is hitting balls, but there are still quite a number of steps to go through before he can be considered match-ready,” he continued.
The old man, Lockie Ferguson, was injured with a hamstring injury in the ILT20 and also Stead gave another update about him.
“Lockie’s done a couple of bowls since arriving here and last night he lifted the intensity a little further,” concluded Stead.
“Pleased with how he’s tracking so, certainly, we’ll look to have him playing in one of the next two games. If anyone’s got small niggles, we’re likely to be conservative around that, with the Champions Trophy just around the corner.”
New Zealand will play a warm-up match against Afghanistan in Karachi on Sunday ahead of their Champions Trophy campaign, starting against the hosts Pakistan on February 19.
