Yash Dayal, the fast bowler of Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL), will not be granted interim protection from arrest in a case of alleged rape of a minor. The girl was under 18 years old.
A case was filed against Dayal based on the complaint of a 17-year-old girl. The charges fall under sections of Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
Kunal Jaiman, Dayal’s lawyer, said this is a bigger conspiracy against Dayal by a group of people. He said another FIR was filed in Jaipur just 7 days after the first FIR. He claimed that a gang is using such cases for blackmail. Dayal’s lawyer added that a similar case was filed in Ghaziabad where Allahabad High Court stayed the matter.
Anil Jaiman, incharge of Sanganer police station, shared details of the Jaipur case. He said the complainant, who was minor when the incident happened, met Yash Dayal at a cricket event. She alleged that two years ago Dayal sexually assaulted her by promising to help her in her cricket career. Police also said Dayal allegedly raped the girl again in a hotel in Sitapura, Jaipur. This happened during the IPL 2025 season after he invited her to his room. Since the girl was 17 years old when the first alleged rape happened, FIR was registered under relevant sections of IPC and POCSO Act.
Dayal has denied all allegations in his written statement, according to Indian Express. He said he never promised to marry her and there was no physical intimacy under false promise. He said they were just friends and the relationship ended because their feelings changed, not because he cheated on her.

He said the girl even mentioned in her complaint that his parents treated her like a daughter, which he claims proves his good intentions. It says … as per FIR, informant has admitted that she was treated like daughter-in-law by parents of petitioner, meaning thereby petitioner never intended to cheat her… It was the victim’s attitude which changed over time and petitioner realized he would not be able to marry her; so he decided to break up.
Yash Dayal was last seen in action for Royal Challengers Bengaluru in IPL 2025 season, the left arm pacer was one of the retained players of the franchise and helped the franchise winning the IPL 2025 ending their title drought of 18 years.
