Arriving in Chennai is Ravindra Jadeja following India’s championship triumphant Champions Trophy run in Dubai. Against New Zealand in the final, the allrounder scored the winning runs and took five wickets in five games.
Rivaba, the wife of Jadeja, believes that the invincible run of the Rohit Sharma-led side in the high-profile event ending on Sunday was aided by the 140 million Indians’ prayer.
“… Only the wishes and prayers of the 140 crore Indians were to blame. Our team combination was unbeatable all over the tournament. Every player performed well. Rivaba said to news bureau ANI, “I hope the team will keep doing this in future.
Rivaba later took a photo under the silverware with Jadeja and was there during the Dubai International Cricket Stadium’s last of the Champions Trophy.
Rivaba captioned the photo “With the Champion.
Jadeja will begin getting ready for the IPL 2025, during which he will be representing five-time champions Chennai Super Kings. Starting on March 23 at home, the Ruturaj Gaikwad-led CSK will launch their campaign against Mumbai Indians.
India have set a record three times for winning the title, so they are currently the most successful team in the history of the Champions Trophy. Before winning it in 2013, the final was cancelled twice in a row because of rain, so they were the co-winners of the year 2000 contest
Including the T20 World Cup of 2024 and the 2013 and 2025 Champions Trophy, Jadeja has now been involved in three ICC title wins for India.
After India’s win, there were doubts about Jadeja’s ODI retirement, but he quelled them by asking not to broadcast any “unbalanced rumours” from his official Instagram account.
Playing 204 ODIs to date, Jadeja has accumulated 2806 runs comprising 13 half-centuries. His left-arm spin has taken 231 wickets, including two five-wicket hauls.
